Volunteering – help others and help yourself! |
|
Many people volunteering for the first time can be unsure of what to expect. We can provide the answers to your questions on volunteering in South Lanarkshire, from the benefits to be gained to the opportunities available. Volunteers are people who are young, old, male, female and from every background.
People volunteer for various reasons; some people may want to “give something back”, or for many the motive is meeting new people and learning new skills and seeing the genuine difference being made to other people’s lives.
Many people volunteer without realising it. Any occasion where you have given your time for free is volunteering. Ever helped at a youth or sports club, taken part in a sponsored walk? Then you have been a VOLUNTEER! |

The position is voluntary, but out of pocket expenses will be paid. This would require attendance at approximately 10 meetings per year, as well as reading board papers etc in preparation for these meetings. You will be rewarded with a stimulating role in a vibrant organisation which promotes volunteers and volunteering, and which contributes greatly to the lives and well being of residents and communities of South Lanarkshire.
